Fiber Optic Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Communications and Information Technology Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has stated that an open domain agreement between six telecommunications companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is now in effect.
The purpose of the agreement is to allow subscribers to choose a fiber optic service provider without having to deal with the issue of who owns the infrastructure, which helps to diversify the choices offered to subscribers as well as improve the level of quality of the services provided.
The agreement provides options for six telecom companies, namely STC, Mobily, Zain Saudi Arabia, Integrated Telecom Company, Dawiyat Company, and Etihad Atheeb Telecom Company.
It gives consumers a choice between the selected companies and allows access to the fixed broadband infrastructure (fiber) of these companies and provides services to subscribers through them, thus targeting more than 3.5 million households connected to fiber throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Companies offering fiber optic services
STC
Fiber optic technology makes it possible for businesses and access to current and future business services as well as broadband services and applications.
The benefit of STC services is the high connection speed, even (up to 2GB).
Broadband connectivity in the form of high capacity, and the convenience of expanding these capacities as needed.
It provides a secure solution for increased connectivity.
Many services are provided through the same access network.
The company claims that this technology is trustworthy and one of the most reliable and stable connectivity solutions.
It is the highest level of quality communication services offered through the company.
It offers compatibility with future telecommunications solutions and has the ability to adapt to upgrades.
It operates for a long time and has a 24-hour technical guarantee.
Company Mobily
The company launched this service because it is a service that will offer high download speeds and provide Internet browsing in a different and new way.
The company also allows to watch videos directly and also to play video games directly over the Internet at low prices.
Zain Saudi Arabia
Zain Saudi Arabia explained that it aims to offer the service in many cities and regions, a move that stems from Zain Saudi Arabia's interest in offering all available services to its customers and contributing to ensuring that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 is part of it.
The service operates with the aim of providing quality broadband services using fiber optic technology to deliver premium internet services.
Formerly Integrated Telecom, now Salaam
A few years ago, the former Integrated Telecommunications Company or Salaam has now signed an agreement on the implementation of the high-speed broadband initiative in order to cover areas within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through fiber optic technology, which focuses on broadband initiatives in order to enhance competitiveness, so that the agreement includes service providers among themselves, as it turns out.
The integrated telecommunications company will start offering a wide range of Internet speeds on July 1 to achieve a wide range including one hundred megabytes per second, two hundred and forty megabytes per second, and five hundred megabytes per second.
Two other companies offering fiber optic services in Saudi Arabia, namely
- Photonics Inc.
- Etihad Atib Telecommunication Co.
The best fiber optic company in the kingdom
After the fiber optic services came into the scope of work and started to take effect in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, people knew the importance and the extent of the ability of this service to work on the Internet and its speed, and the interest of many people focused on knowing the best companies that provide fiber optic services to the customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on the data provided. And according to the experience of the public, the best company currently providing the service is the former integrated telecommunications company, Salaam.
What is fiber-optic service?
Fiber optics is one such technology that is used to transmit information over long distances in the form of light pulses through fibers made of glass or plastic.
The diameter of one of these fibers is about the diameter of a human hair, and when assembled into fiber optic cables, they can transmit more data over longer distances and faster than other media. Photovoltaic technology offers more advantages than other technologies.
Fiber Optic Internet
Fiber optic internet is the internet that uses fiber optic cables instead of copper wires. Optical internet allows you to access the internet using fiber optic cables filled with thin glass fibers.
This cable uses lasers and optical signals to transmit data back and forth, but for those of you who are interested in this technology, this may be a very simple definition, so let's dig a little deeper.
This optical signal is used for binary communication with computers, where the presence of light can mean binary presence and the absence of light can mean binary zero," says the expert.
Fiber optic communication lines do not distort the signal over long distances like traditional copper wires do. Now, you may be wondering why fiber optic data transmission is better than cable or DSL internet connections. The answer lies in the type of cable used to transmit data over the internet.
Both DSL and cable internet use the same copper wires to transmit data as telephone lines do to carry voice. This shows how long it took for fiber optics to be introduced.
As experts point out, "unlike fiber optic cables, which transmit light with relatively little attenuation or distortion, copper wire attenuates and distorts the voltage signals it carries.
The problem of attenuation and distortion in copper cables becomes greater the longer the cable, so the farther away from a nearby hub or ISP, the weaker the signal becomes, and the faster the network speed, the weaker it becomes (which is why DSL and cable networks are not much faster).
As a result, fiber connections can transfer data much faster than copper connections, resulting in faster downloads, better transmission quality, less scrambling, and fewer reload buttons when web pages load too slowly.
The speed of a user's internet connection also depends on the amount of data the infrastructure can carry. Fiber optic internet lines use modified light instead of electricity to transmit data. This allows users to take advantage of greater bandwidth, as they are not physically limited by electricity flowing through the metal.
